Thai Energy Co. seeks startups in hydrocarbon, circular economy, and manufacturing

PTT, a Thailand-based energy company, seeks startups in hydrocarbon disruption, circular economy, and manufacturing technologies. They will visit MIT campus on Oct 16-17.  

Meetings would be at MIT/ILP offices in person or via teleconference, on either October 16 after 2:30pm or October 17 before 11:00am.

TOP Ventures (CVC arm of Thaioil, a PTT subsidiary) is interested in 3 areas: 

1. Manufacturing Technology – AR/VR, Robotic, Drone and any Hardware, Software to be used in industrial

2. Green & Human Technology – Bio Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Recycle, Circular Economy

3. Hydrocarbon Disruption Technology – Mobility, Advance Materials, Energy Efficiency.

They are interested in investing in Series A and B, and they are interested in both US focused/companies which are expending into SE Asia. For startups expanding into SE Asia, we could potentially help them too!

PTT is the state-owned energy company of Thailand, based in Bangkok. Current business areas are petrochemicals, automotive technologies, and retail operations (mostly at service stations). They have been active at MIT for two decades, including sponsored research.
