We build a production ready, micron scale precision additive manufacturing system to produce architected metamaterials. We provide design to manufacturing services of such materials for cosmetics, diagnostics, and consumer industries.

Description

OPT Industries combines computational design, additive manufacturing, and polymer science to manufacture metamaterials with micron-scale precision. Through our photolithography-based 3D-printing technology, we bring new product concepts and rapidly scalable production capacity to globally recognized brands across diagnostics, cosmetics, luxury consumer goods, and high precision industrial componentry. Since the company’s founding in 2019, OPT has collaborated on product developments with over a dozen brands, and launched three in-house product lines.

Technology Description

Our technologies vertically integrate multiple manufacturing processes into one additive manufacturing system, where things can be precisely designed and made from a single liquid polymer precursor to heterogeneous solid architecture, With precision in the micrometer range and the scale in meters. It fundamentally changes the way we make materials and products, with fewer (hence stable) supply chain steps. The production process avoids the higher costs and lead times associated with conventional manufacturing tooling and international supply chains. By consolidating our material formulation, design software, and mass manufacturing capabilities in-house, OPT Industries delivers products that are ready for market within a fraction of the time of other solutions.
