Nexa's Covid-19 Challenge 1. Hospital Safety

Nexa is seeking innovative solutions and technologies capable of preserving the health of health professionals, aiming to guarantee the availability of care for patients.

Examples of desirable solutions are:

i) new materials and equipment such as, for example, PPE and EPCs;

ii) good hospital practices management for work in situations of risk exposure;

iii) allocation management of financial and technical resources in the context of a pandemic

iv) supporting the psychological resilience of health professionals.

3 startups will be selected to receive $50k equity-free investment each.

Next steps:

  1. i) startups to submit applications in the Nexa Challenge COVI19 website http://www.mininglab.com.br/  by May 8th.
  2. ii) Nexa to review submissions and provide feedback 
  3. iii) Winners to receive equity-free investment.

Nexa Resources, headquartered in Brazil, is a $3B global mining player for zinc, copper, lead and other essential elements. They have been in touch with 1-2 MIT startups and have a platform to receive applications from startups that can potentially help Nexa to solve their main challenges.  They have a venture arm / could invest.
