Lightning Talk and Panel for 2020 SENSE.nano Symposium

Deadline: August 20, 2020

MIT Startup Exchange is seeking startups to participate in this year's SENSE.nano Symposium, the startup portion of which will be held Tuesday, September 29, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Selection will be on a rolling basis, so be sure to apply soon - don't wait!

The 2020 SENSE.nano Symposium theme will be The Body at all Scales: From the level of cells, organs, and body systems to individuals and populations, the symposium will highlight the needs for new SENSE technologies, showcase research and innovations, and present the impact of these technologies and provide context as well as solution perspectives in the domains of sensing for the study of biology and for the care of humans in their natural environment.  While not the primary focus, COVID-19 will be featured.

Specifically, Startup Exchange is looking for:

  • ~5 startups to present a lightning talk on sensing technologies, including but not focused on COVID-19 tech.
  • 2 startups with past panel experience to participate in a panel focused on the societal impact of sensing technologies. The startups will join representatives from the government, FDA/NIH, the insurance industry, a VC, and a regulatory agency to discuss societal implications and impact, commercialization, privacy, policy, and data management.

To apply, please provide the following:

  • a brief description of your startup's technology-based product/services & 1 compelling use case;
  • brief description of current market traction (e.g. pilot, validation results, paying customers, etc.);
  • a speaker bio & a few words on the speaker’s experience as a speaker (optionally, including a video sample);
  • a one-paragraph explanation of the unique fit between the event and the startup’s vision, technologies, products, or services.
