Elevator Pitch
Elevator Pitch
Jeeva is a 5-year old, early-stage, deep-tech spinout from the University of Washington. We’re building an edge-to-cloud service platform, deploying high-volume disposable and battery-free streaming wireless sensors that gather real-time intelligence from item-level products directly at point of use and throughout distribution. By gathering intelligence on parameters such as consumption rate, environmental conditions, inventory location and velocity we automate processes like inventorying and

Technology Description
Backed by a portfolio of 24 issued and pending patents, our backscatter networking technology employs reflected RF energy to wirelessly transmit data using three orders of magnitude (1000x) less energy than any existing radio technology. This breakthrough approach dramatically lowers the cost (100x) and size (10x) requirements for remote wireless sensor deployment. Using standard local networking protocols, our system leverages commodified, low-cost receivers and obviates the need for new infrastructure. Our turn-key platform provides everything necessary to deploy and manage very-large-scale sensor networks enabling up to 65,000 endpoints with a range of up to 200 meters between wired access points. The system is capable of continuously streaming up to a megabit per second while using less than a 100 microwatts of endpoint power. We combine this backscatter technique with multi-mode energy harvesting capabilities (RF, thermal, kinetic, PV) to create extremely low-cost, “forever sensors” that are completely battery and maintenance-free. This technology enables cheap, disposable sensors to bring real-time data from sources and locations never before possible. And we can do this with no latency or duty-cycle down-time, as is the case with all other competing IoT Wireless technologies.
