Business Background:

In order to simplify its product assortment P&G is looking for technology solutions which enable an increase of the amount of information on its product labels. In Addition to driving simplification and increasing of the amount of information on its products, this will enable P&G to reach more consumers in different regions with the same product in a more flexible and agile way, resulting in a reduction of packaging waste for product labels.

Business Challenge / Needs Definition:

P&G is interested in identifying new technology solutions that increase the amount of information on its products and packaging which will enable a more efficient management of its assortment.

Specific needs to be met:

  1. Increase the amount of information on bottles.
  2. Increase the amount of information on labels.
  3. Increase the amount of information on packaging.
  4. The solution(s) will need to align to the local regulations.

Initial areas of interest for scoping:

Below are some example areas of interest but the business is open to other creative responses:

  • Printing technology for increasing the space or information on products or their packaging
  • Hologram label technology allowing higher information density on labels

The desired outcome is a pilot or partnership with P&G to show proof of concept (POC) of the solution. If successful, the pilot solution or partnership could lead to a longer-term relationship across multiple markets.

The Ask:

P&G is looking for partners and solutions that provide technologies which can increase the amount of information on its products and labels. If a viable solution is found, P&G would like to execute a pilot in Europe, which will be scaled if successful. If you have ideas and supporting technologies that you believe can help deliver innovative solutions to the challenge highlighted above, we want to hear from you. Where there is a good fit, we are looking to drive agile in- market pilots with the goal of scaling successful solutions. All ideas and submissions will be fully reviewed.
