Commercially-available data are not accurate. These “external” (or “alternative”) datasets are proxies for the truth, as they contain myriad statistical biases: non-representative panels, sensors bias, etc. We correct these issues with our breakthroughs in data-efficient machine learning. Our methods (MIT News 2021, 2019) have shown broad applicability to, for example, investors pricing securities, corporations studying their competition, governments looking for real-time economic measures, and intelligence analysts.
