Anglo American seeks startups or researchers to speak at FutureSmart Mining Sensing Open Forum

Deadline: May 13, 2021

We are seeking start-ups or researchers focused on new sensing approaches relevant to industrial/manufacturing processes to participate in the Anglo American FutureSmart MiningTM Sensing Open Forum taking place virtually from June 9th - 17th 2021. Time commitment is expected to be 8-10 hours over these days.

FutureSmart MiningTM Forums are a series of events to bring together the world’s leading thinkers and implementers from across industries to discover, unlock and potentially co-create technologies and approaches that can tackle some of the most pressing sector-wide issues.

The goals of the sensing forum are to:

  1. Understand the critical parameters of the ore, such as its mineralogy, grade, and particle size in real time as it is being processed and transported
  2. See into our processing infrastructure to understand the work being done, resulting in better classification and grading of outputs at every step
  3. Utilise every interaction with the ore to monitor material through the mineral processing flowsheet to treat material more precisely and eliminate processing of waste rock

You will join a group of 10 top business and technology executives from Anglo American in addition to 25-30 leaders from mining and other relevant industries. Virtual forums enable clients and participants alike to stimulate new conversations, insights, and solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with leading companies in an area of common strategic interest. The sessions will be held under the Chatham House rule.

Process for Selecting Participants

Please reach out directly to Lauren Raouf (lraouf@clareo.com) and Phil Newman (phil.newman@angloamerican.com) with short 1-2 paragraph description of your key technologies and innovations relevant to this forum, as well as your startup’s website. They will respond with whether this is of interest within 2 business days and if it is, set up a 30-45 min briefing call with the member of your team who would attend the forum to discuss the forum and determine with you whether the opportunity is a good fit.
