Business Background:

P&G’s ambition is to reach net zero GHG emissions across their supply chain and operations by 2040, with science-based targets for 2030 to make meaningful progress this decade. To achieve their goals, they need to optimize the efficiency of their operations with innovative solutions. They identified that the thermal energy exchange with the external environment creates an increased load for their HVAC system to manage to maintain their production areas and warehouse in appropriate operating conditions.

Business Challenge / Needs Definition:

P&G is looking for innovative solutions that can help reduce the thermal energy exchange with the external environment which will lead to optimizing their HVAC load capacity and cost.
Desired capabilities include but not limited to:

  • Reduction of thermal conductivity of metal surfaces
  • Easy application to the relevant surfaces without significant need for downtime
  • Lightweight with minimal weight applied to building structures
  • The team will be evaluating the solution for:
  • Technical Feasibility: Demonstrated application cooling surfaces or reducing thermal conductivity
  • Affordability: Cost-effective over desired ROI timeline

Startups must be able to immediately activate in Germany and have the ability to scale in different regions.

Relevant technology domains may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lightweight Insulation
  • Alternative Insulation
  • Low Thermal Conductivity Coatings
  • Reflective Paints
  • Natural Cooling Solutions
  • Turnkey Alternative HVAC Solutions
  • Thermal barriers

The Ask:

If you have ideas and supporting technologies that you believe can deliver disruptive services & solutions to this challenge, we want to hear/partner with you. Where there is a good fit, we are looking to drive agile in- market pilots in Germany with the goal of scaling successful services & solutions. All ideas and submissions will be fully reviewed by our team.
