START.nano’s vision is that access to MIT.nano’s state-of-the-art laboratories can minimize the cost of launching a nascent idea, helping to increase the survival rate of promising companies and potentially shortening the time it takes for their innovations to reach the market. MIT affiliation is not required. Participating startups will have access to tools and other advantages that can help them develop their prototypes, validate the data, and position their companies for the next stage of growth.
Applications are due January 14, 2022. Participants will be selected by early February 2022.
In addition to discounted access to MIT.nano’s facilities, START.nano companies become a part of the MIT community, where they can work alongside talented researchers and receive support through the MIT innovation ecosystem, including being eligible to participate in the MIT Startup Exchange. In return, MIT students, faculty, and industry partners may gain direct connections with hard-tech startups tackling tomorrow’s challenges. Learn more about START.nano and see the list of 2021 ventures from the pilot year.
