-Comminution in mining involves breaking down rocks through grinding, pulverizing, and crushing, traditionally using energy-intensive, fixed plant equipment.
-Rethinking comminution becomes crucial as we seek sustainable energy solutions in mining operations.
-Innovative comminution technology has the potential to reduce operational costs and lessen environmental impacts.
Think & Act Differently (TAD) focuses on radical ideas that can lead to reduced energy consumption or improved throughput with the same energy input, resulting in a net positive for the process.
Deadline: January 17, 2024
Selected startups will be invited to join a cohort that will receive support and funding to test ideas through field tests in collaboration with TAD across various active mining projects. This will enable innovators to try out untested ideas in a supportive mining environment. Support and guidance can be offered remotely for those overseas in the build-up to live field tests.
