Food waste has massive economic, social, and environmental implications resulting in an estimated economic loss of $165 billion per year. Mori’s shelf life extending technology directly addresses the broader societal need for reducing food waste and increasing food availability. Coatings provide significant commercial value for customers by increasing revenue through improved distribution, reducing waste, and decreasing costs associated with cold storage and transport. Mori's core customers are large and regional fruit and vegetable producers who are in need a natural and cost-effective solutions to extend shelf life and reach new markets. We are also actively investigating additional follow-on customers at the food processor and retail levels who have expressed a strong need for shelf life extension solutions. Principal focus remains on producers, due to the great interest alignment between the stakeholders who apply the coating, benefit from the technology.
