OPmobility is a world leader in sustainable mobility and a technology partner to mobility players worldwide acting on passenger cars, bus and trucks and railway systems. Today, the group is composed of four complementary business groups that enable it to offer its customers a wide range of solutions: intelligent exterior systems & lighting systems, complex modules, energy storage systems and battery and hydrogen electrification solutions. OPmobility also offers its customers an activity dedicated to the development of software, OPn'Soft.
Problem
- Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) size and shape is dependent of the mechanical design of the lamp.
- Production panel size can differ, however there are limitation like min, max –width and length and series of Design rules to be taken in to account e.g. min margins related with production process, size of milling slots.
- Grandmother panel sizes are standardized however several sizes available.
- The ultimate goal is to maximize number of single PCB on Grandmother panel with fulfilling a design rule for Production panel.
- Additionally, the proposals of modifications of single PCB size/shape to be made with restrictions like (max size change 10mm with no more that 10% of a overall surface reduction) or combining different PCB on the same production panel. Example.
Solution
OPmobility is looking for solution vendors to make AI generated PCB which would be also able to launch EMC simulation to refine the design. Ultimately the goal is to optimize a placement of the single PCBs on a production panel giving a best utilization on the grandmother panel. Please find images attached.
