Founder & CEO, Brelyon
Dr. Barmak Heshmat is the founder and CEO of BRELYON, a display technology startup in silicon valley which is pioneering a new category of displays with computational media interfaces. Barmak was former head of optics at Meta Augmented Reality where he was leading a team of engineers to realize the next generation of augmented reality headsets. Before that he was a research scientist at MIT Media Lab where he pioneered multiple technologies in the area of computational displays and computational imaging. Dr. Heshmat has given six TEDx talks and has many publications and inventions some of which are featured on cover of MIT news, Nature photonics and other mainstream media outlets such as BBC, CBS; TechCrunch, etc.
CEO, RaySecur
Dr. Alexander Sappok is CEO of RaySecur, Inc., a Boston-based technology company developing advanced security imaging systems. Previously, Dr. Sappok served as CEO of FST, an MIT spin-out company developing automotive sensing technologies acquired by CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS) in 2015. He holds over a dozen patents and two R&D100 awards. Dr. Sappok received S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, where he also held the Cummins-MIT Fellowship. He is a member of ASIS, SIA, SPIE, SAE, and ASME.
Co-Founder & CEO, Common Sense Machines (CSM)
Max Kleiman-Weiner is Co-Founder and CEO of Common Sense Machines, an AI startup building agents that learn to simulate the world. Inspired by how children learn, we are building Real-to-Sim, a machine learning system for autonomously building models of everyday objects, spaces, and agents directly from sensor inputs. Our models are used for flexible robotic planning, perception, and reasoning and serve as the grounding for common sense understanding of the world. Max was previously a fellow at Harvard in the Data Science Institute and Center for Research on Computation and Society (CRCS). He completed a PhD in Computational Cognitive Science at MIT advised by Josh Tenenbaum where he was a NSF and Hertz Foundation Fellow. His thesis won the Robert J. Glushko Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation. Max was also Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Diffeo, a collaborative machine intelligence startup that was acquired by Salesforce in 2019. Before all that he was a Fulbright Fellow in Beijing, earned an MSc in Statistics as a Marshall Scholar at Oxford, and did his undergraduate work at Stanford as a Goldwater Scholar.

Founder & CEO, TrustPoint
Prior to founding TrustPoint, Patrick Shannon was the VP of Business Development and Operations at Astro Digital where he was a 5x satellite program manager and responsible for strategy formulation, business development, and product management. Before that, Mr. Shannon was VP of Business Development at SpaceQuest, driving company strategy and overseeing all contract and internal R&D program execution. He got his start as a satellite systems engineer at Orbital Sciences later transferring into their Corporate Strategy and M&A group. He has spent over a decade studying and developing commercial service solutions for historically DoD operated systems and capabilities. Mr. Shannon holds a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from MIT and a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford.
Vice President of Business Development, CipherMode Labs
Prior to joining CipherMode Labs as VP of Business Development, Jesse was a Senior Product Manager on the IBM Security Data Security team responsible for encryption, key management, data discovery and classification and database activity monitoring solutions. His previous work includes stints as an analyst and research specialist at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), international trade lobbyist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a B.A. in history from Emory University and an M.B.A. from Duke University.
