DEBBIE YU: Hi, everyone. My name is Debbie. I'm a co-founder and COO at ISEE. So we spin out from MIT in 2017. My co-founder, Chris Baker, and also Yibiao Zhao both worked with Professor Josh Tenenbaum at Computational Cognitive Science Lab. We started the company with a vision to build a next generation autonomous driving technology to really alleviate the global supply chain problem.
OK, so today's supply chain is inefficient and understaffed. So the cost of shipping container has increased 10 times since March, 2020. And we signed a contract with Maersk to deploy autonomous driving yard truck across their North American warehouse network. So their CEO said the biggest obstacle of flow of goods is labor shortage, in particular, like of truck drivers. So the solution has to be automation.
In this crisis, we see an incredible business opportunity. So instead of working on the highway driving, we apply our technology on the yard truck use case. So yard truck is operating in the logistic centers for warehouse facilities, manufacturing yard, and can be a port terminal yard, so where those shipping containers and trailers have been stored, loaded, unloaded.
So the yard has its own challenge, for example, the shortage of qualified drivers and congested mixed traffic environment, as well as the unstructured road, which is like people actually drive without leveling and no riding. So this kind of challenge, but for with ISEE autonomous driving technology, we can help provide reliable driving force and potentially reduce the yard truck-related injury as a damage, and also potentially reduce 26% of the emission.
So our technology is a perfect match for this challenge. So we have many years of research and development experience in computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence. Here are just a sample examples of our publication at top tier journals. So all this, when we put everything together, how the technology will look like?
Here is our yard truck handling all the jobs at our customer site. So it finds the trailer autonomously, go couple, and then pull it out autonomously. And then it'll navigate in this yard. You can see it's very crowded, containers, trailers, everything. And then you have to avoid the other traffic participants and drive through this narrow aisle.
And then when you get to this dock door, park the trailer, the giant trailer, precisely to the dock door. Need to be very precise parking. You cannot do back and forth, back and forth, that block the traffic. The yard site manager will hit us. So you have to do it very efficient way.
So this is how our technology look like. So, yeah, fully end to end, fully autonomous, end to end job completion. So, yeah, so we have been building a strong customer pipeline. We have been working with Maersk and also Fortune 100 CPG company and also a port terminal operator. And right now, also an auto OEM manufacturing.
So we're looking forward to further expand our footprint in retail, 3PL, intermodal site, and, yeah, so if you are interested in automating your yard operation and making it more efficient, please come partner with us. So here is my email contact. Drop me a note. Thank you.
